Oxford vacation

Last weekend we went to visit the Halls at their new house in Oxford, MS. It's awesome! There's great food there (both Laura's and otherwise), the town square is adorable, the new house is gorgeous, and there are deer everywhere. We learned how to play disc golf while we were there and totally had a blast, although my aim and strength were pitiful. Gus woke up early Sunday, and there were three deer in the backyard. Gus looked at them and said "doo-ay!" At least he knew they weren't cats. :) Viv & Gus got to see their first fireflies too, which was cool.

At the big fancy playground. Viv kept saying that it reminded her of Torres Park. It is big & nice like that.

Getting ready for disc golf, or frolf (frisbee golf).

That metal chain thing is the frolf goal.

I know. It's OK. It's hard not to be envious of my form. You'll get over it.

Hey - sand!

Harmonica break. :)

And back to frolf - this is Zack. Adam has on a red shirt in this series.

Gus is let loose!

The Cherry Princess of Oxford, MS. She adores this dress and wore it pretty much the whole rest of our stay.

Pictures from dinner at Ajax Diner, home of world-ruling tamale pie, fried pickles to rival Liuzza's, and probably the cutest, friendliest hostess in the Deep South.

Sunday morning, Gus discovered the pots & pans cabinet.

After we made them get out of the cabinet.

Fresh green beans with purple streaks on them. They turned solid green when Laura cooked them. Yummy!

Tubby toast.

Even barricaded, Gus found a way to stress us out about the stairs.

Ride 'em Gus-a-roo.

Chasing the Cherry Princess.

I LOVE that Gus seems to have figured out how to stop and smile for the camera.

Birthday party for Viv (8/29), Pod (9/1), & me (9/3).

That is a Shih-tzu puppy dog cake with a princess crown on it and a ton of icing, a huge bonus for the icing-loving princess.

My favorite candle blowing picture. Adam in gray, Zack in navy.

Yeah u rite!

A delicious grown up cake made with fresh blueberries that Pod & Yaya picked and brought to MS from VA when they moved.

Yaya & Viv open presents.

Monday before we left, Viv in her new princess dress. She decided to try it on once she figured out that she might look like Tinkerbell in it.

Both in black, Adam is on the left, Zack on the right.
