The weather was supposed to be pretty foul today (though it turned out to not be that bad), so we took the kids to the aquarium.  Viv decided she needed a proper hat.

Mardi Gras!

Mardi Gras day is such a nightmare to get around town- the big parades are fun but the traffic and the crowds are miserable.  So, the last couple of years we've taken the kids to Marigny and the edge of the French Quarter- mostly around Frenchmen street.  Way easier to get to and tons of fun.

Viv had her first big Daisy gig yesterday (pre-pre-girl scouts).  The troop leader set up a game day for the girls and the residents of St. Margarets in Bywater.  By and large, the old people were annoyed and the girls intimidated.

The little girl by Viv is Gianna, who appears to be one of her new buddies.

So.....

Alice and I were going to take the kids to Thoth today and Alice ended sicker than a dog, as did Gus early today.  I was going to send Viv along with Kathy and Linda but Gus ended up getting a second wind.
