Saturday stuff
Viv went on an outing with her Grandma for about an hour and half for the weekly book and video exchange. They've been going to the library and getting ten books and two videos on Saturday mornings lately. Curt went on some errands, stopped at Harold's, and bought some plants. I thought I'd at least go to the park to get out of the house, but neither Gus nor I managed to leave the house today. Unless the backyard counts. And today it did. We found Abby a great home last weekend, and we're finally getting to relax again and use the yard. Not to mention that it's finally not sweltering outside. Just regular hot. So when Viv got home, we played in her sandbox and she got in her wading pool while Gus hung out on the back porch in the Bumbo and bouncy seat. Curt and I got lots of stuff done in the yard too, so that was nice.

Straight A's
Gus had his 4 month pediatrician appointment yesterday. He weighs 14.0 lbs and is 25 inches long. This puts him in the 50th percentile for both height and weight. He was quite charming for Dr. Hales until the two shots, which really ticked him off. Still, Dr. Hales said that he is healthy and gave him "straight A's."
Some of you know that Gus had blood in his stool two times in a row last week, but has not had it since then. Dr. Oates, another pediatrician in the practice who we also really like, had suggested that I get off milk products since it could have been caused by an intolerance to cow's milk proteins in my breast milk. But Dr. Hales thinks it's more likely that a blood vessel burst in? near? my milk duct since it only happened those two times in a row. He said it would be better for me to get back on milk so that if it happened again we might more strongly suspect that milk is the culprit. With me off of it, we'd never really know.

Pictures from Sunday
Viv picked her cowgirl boots to wear with her pink overall shorts this Sunday. We've really gotten to the point where she has to at least think she's picked part of her outfit. This morning she insisted on her turtle swimsuit, not the purple one which caused tears when we tried to put it on her, but the blue one that has turtles and fish. She paired it with her pink and green V cape. I wish I had got pictures of that. Instead you get these (with a couple of Gus pics thrown in for good measure).

Grocery sacks, party hats
Here's some pictures from this last week.
Curt bought reusable grocery sacks. Viv approves.

Laid back Gus.

Pajama Viv.

Viv's first stab at chopsticks.

We bought these party hats for Viv's party and totally forgot to use them that day. So we put them on Wednesday night.

Looks like Viv got Grandma and Nonna in on the hat action the next day, because these pictures were on the camera when I got home from work Thursday.
