Dance class

Vivienne started dance class last month, and she just loves it. It turns out that her dance teacher is also a teacher at her preschool. One day the teacher even poked her head into Viv's classroom and told her hello, so that was pretty cool. Here are pictures from Viv's first day, September 9.

Gus loves the alphabet

He loves his alphabet books right now, loves to sing the alphabet, and loves any show that features the alphabet. One of the shows that he particularly enjoys is our DVD of the Letter Factory, by Leap Frog. There, the alphabet is manufactured in a nifty frog-run factory where "every letter makes a sound." The conscientious factory workers check every letter to make sure there are no duds. In one scene, children are introduced to the burster or the bersker, a sort of non-letter lump that makes a non-letter sound and is summarily rejected and removed from the line. Here, you can see for yourselves:

Needless to say, that silly part of the Letter Factory movie is Gus's all time favorite. So, with that explanation, here is a video of Gus singing the alphabet song in the style of Alphapig from Super Why (another of Gus's favorite letter-oriented shows) followed by him being amused by the thought of the burster (or bersker).
