Picasa web album
I've configured a Picasa web album that has all of Viv's pics that have been on the blog since Dec. 4- the album can be found by clicking here. Just click on Viv's avocado face when you get the web album and it'll take you to the pictures. You have the option of downloading any or all of the photos to Picasa (it's free from google - click here). You can also order prints from the web album as well.

Busy Viv
Viv has had parade of visitors of late. Last Monday she got to see Grandma Laura and today Uncle Noah and a horde of kids from Dartmouth stopped by. Noah and the group are here helping with the ongoing cleanup and they stopped by for a few hours this afternoon. Anyway, Viv got lots of attention and had a really good time. Later this week Grandma Linda shows up, so we're keeping her busy.

Hey Y'all
I'll start this by apologizing for the umpteenth time about the lack of posts. I just finished up a rough few weeks in my program at UNO with my departmental seminar so I haven't had a lot of free time. Anyway, these are some pics of Viv this morning before our early, early outing to Sam's Club. Waking up early on the weekend to go to Sam's Club- man how my life has changed.
Additionally, if anyone wants to know more about applications of carbon nanotubes in capillary gas chromatography and ultrafast gas chromatography, just let me know :)

Nocturnal Viv
It looks like Viv has decided to stop sleeping through the night, at least for a while. It probably has to do with the ridiculous number of teeth that she has coming in- 2 on the top that are completely out and another that will break through in the next few days. We've been giving her a touch of baby Tylenol each evening but she still wakes up at least once or twice during the night. With any luck she'll take a bit of a break before her next round of teeth so Al and I can start getting some sleep again.

Sniffles, II
Viv’s sniffles did not clear up sooner rather than later. They have lingered. So, Viv decided to share the bug with us. It started this weekend with us experiencing really mild sore throats Saturday and during the day on Sunday. Luckily, we were still well enough to enjoy the Irish-Italian-Islenos parade, and we caught tons of cabbages, moonpies, Ramen noodles, lemons, potatoes, onions, beads, carrots, super balls, a t-shirt, a few stuffed animals, a spear, three swords, some plastic cups, a Frisbee, a plastic cigar, and seven wooden doubloons redeemable at Main’s Chalmette Market for 8 oz. “pickle meat” a piece.
Then on Sunday night the bug crept from our throats to our ears, eyes, and noses. We were sneezing, coughing wrecks. And Vivi was still feeling it too. Plus, she is teething (again? or is it just a constant state from here until she’s seven or so?). That night she woke us up hourly, and Curt’s uncharged cell phone, Jamie’s barking, and Lunar’s cover-hogging did their parts to contribute to a delirious morning. I wound up using leave Monday to come back here after working only a half day just to rest.
Mom spent the night Monday night to give us a break if Viv had a bad night again. Fortunately, Viv woke up only once that night and last night. We have moved the crib into our room instead of the pack’n’play bassinet which has a very crinkly, scritchy- sounding mattress. We also bought a cool mist vaporizer to help her with her congestion. One or both of those things may have helped. Also, just today, her top right tooth broke through the gum. The top left one won’t be far behind.
Another new development for Viv is sitting. She can’t quite maintain the seated pose, but she can do it for just a few seconds by herself. She likes trying to sit so much that even in her bouncer and her kick’n’play, which are designed for reclining, she attempts to sit upright. She has also just started lifting her behind into the air during tummy time, so she is learning the components of crawling. She just needs to get them all together. We’ll have to have a childproofing weekend here soon.
