Valentine's update

Happy belated Valentine’s Day. There’s so much going on here right now. First and foremost is Viv’s focus on the potty. Friday she wore big girl underwear all day long with no accidents. She even woke up the night before last at 2:30am and asked to go to the potty. She is doing such a great job with this - far better than I expected after all those months of refusing to having anything to do with it. Anyway, Viv understands that she needs to use the potty and be out of diapers to go to preschool next year. Yes, preschool. My stomach does weird things when I acknowledge that she’ll be going in the fall. It’s only three days a week and not a full day long, and Mom will be there in the building two of those days because they’ve asked her to be a teacher aide for the 4 year old class.

Gus has been out of sorts lately. So much so that we thought her had an ear infection, but he does not. He has been unable to sleep through the night, which is not like him at all. He is trying to learn so much all at once. He wants to express himself in a way that’s understood. He wants to stand. He wants to crawl. Arg. Last night I woke in the middle of the night to find him sitting upright in the cosleeper. That is his newest trick - getting into the sitting position from lying down.

We have been going for walks at night lately. We usually walk about 45 minutes with the goal of having Viv wind down and fall asleep in the stroller. It usually works, but one night this week we walked until 10pm and she was still wide awake. Last night was great though, because she didn’t get a nap during the day. We took our walk at 8pm and had Viv to sleep by 9pm.

The pictures are all from yesterday, Valentine's Day.

Gus is just growing so fast!!! And isn't it nice to have a potty trained toddler! I love Viv's sweater! And that picture of both of them in the stroller is just to cute.

Gus has a gaggle of teeth now! Holy smokes! Love the shots of Ms. Viv in the red and pink sweater. And, last shot of the two sleeping is just precious!
