Gus 2nd Birthday

Gus had the best time at his birthday party this year! He woke up on the morning of his birthday and announced, "I'm 2!" We were very impressed that he understood and remembered. Since his party, Gus has even managed to pee on the potty once, but we are pretty sure it was just a fluke. Still, we are offering the potty as a reward for turning 2 since his reward for being under 2 (nursing) is now officially off the table. There have been a few tears from both of us about that this week, but I think we're doing pretty well with it, really. He was only nursing once a day, in the mornings, so we have been trying to snuggle on the couch and read a book at that time instead. Gus also had a dream recently that he remembered that involved a school bus or fire truck (one of the beloved vehicles, anyway), and he told us all about it in the morning without us even prompting him for details. So I guess Gus knows and understands what dreams are now too.
