Jazz Fest

What a day! We packed up all sorts of baby gear and headed out for Vivienne's first ever day at the Jazz Fest, and our first day at the Fest this year. We picked up Mom & my cousin Susan, in from Austin, and we were off to Dollie's, who graciously volunteered to give us taxi service from her house to the Fest so we didn't have to wrestle with parking. We were on the grounds at ~11:45 and got to hear one song by the Imagination Movers, so we know what we're in for soon. Actually, the song was pretty good. We hit the blues tent briefly and caught some of Little Ray Neal, and saw all of Marcia Ball & Gillian Welch. On the way out we caught part of Bonnie Raitt & Jon Cleary. And the food was up to its usual awesome standard - we had the Prejean's pheasant & andoille gumbo, crawfish sacks, oyster patty, crawfish beignets, and mango ice. Plus bites of Mom's cochon du lait po boy, and Susan's stuffed mushrooms & crawfish Monica. Can't beat the Fest for food, that's for sure. And best of all - Viv enjoyed herself and didn't get sunburned. We think we'll try again next weekend.
