We brought the kids trick or treating in Old Metairie again this year. It had been so fabulous last year that we just couldn't bring ourselves to go anywhere else, despite a very tempting invitation to a party in Algiers Point. The residents of Rosewood Street close the street to traffic for two blocks, sit out front of their houses, and hand out candy. There are a lot of space walks set up too. Eileen lives on Rosewood, but she was out of town this Halloween, and Nick & Laura were uptown with Michael. Our friends Kathleen & Jay live nearby though, and Kathleen, her sister, and her sister's kids walked with us down to Rosewood. It was awesome! Viv ran around like crazy, which was great. She loved it, we didn't have to worry about cars, and she conked out hard on the way home even though she had 2 Starbursts from her loot on the walk back. Also, Kathleen's niece Ashley was great with Vivienne, and Viv loves attention from big girls, so that was very nice for her.
The first picture is of Viv here at home wearing one of our boas earlier in the week. She had been crying, but sometimes she'll stop the tears and put on a grin for the right picture. This was one of those occasions. The rest of the pictures are from Halloween night.

This is our fabulous jack-o-lantern that Curt carved, with some creative guidance from Viv.
