Verbal Skills

Viv's verbal skills have shot through the roof in the past month or two. She's started simple sentence/phrase construction like 'you outside' when she wants you to take her outside or 'more xxxxx' with xxxxx being pretty much anything- though cookies, play-doh or boo usually top the list.

The downside of all these verbal skills is that she can repeat pretty much anything you say (and often does). For example, Alice said 'shit' about something a few days back. Viv immediately repeated it and Kathy told her that we use the word 'poop' instead. So, I'm changing Viv's diaper tonight after she pooped and she tells me 'poop' a time or two. She then switches to 'shit' and proudly tells me this about a dozen times. I felt like I should have scolded her, but I was just laughing too hard.
